Education & Awareness
The importance of environmental awareness lies in the certainty that human might have acquired a wrong behaviour toward environment, the ecosystems and its components causing some major threats and risks to environment and its ecosystems. It is very imperative that all concerned parties i.e. governmental and non-governmental institutions, and all stakeholders including individuals, communities, as well as the locals, national, regional, and international organizations to cooperate effectively. This cooperation will give the needed priority to efforts aiming at raising environmental awareness in order to change and correct the wrong attitudes and behaviours that can cause harm to the environment.
Cooperation among all of these parties and their contributions will lead to a better orientation in dealing and interacting with the environment. The awareness process with its various activities and programmes is essential to understand that all activities have consequences whether direct or indirect, on the short or the long term on the environment and its resources in general. The process is the key element in the course towards changing human behaviours that threaten and pose the greatest danger to the environment
The awareness process is an essential component of the efforts to protect the environment and to maintain and use it in a sustainable ways. The environmental awareness as a concept is the awareness of the individual about the development of correct behaviours toward the environment in order to promote its protection. We must realise that environmental awareness is not a natural matter for many individuals, but rather something that is acquired, and hence will modify the behaviour toward the environment, through the activities of environmental awareness campaigns and various environmental programmes and at various levels and directions.
The Society seeks to increase and raise the level of awareness within the communities and within its audience as of its mission and vision and according to the general goals of the Society.
